Necromancer's Lab Primer

Let us unveil the mystery

  • Why can't I list my human NFT?
Before a human can be listed, they must be necrophized in the laboratory.
  • What does the necrophize do?
Necrophize empowers your NFT by enabling guardian utilities, secondary sales and zombie metadata.
  • I used necrophize and my human didn't change on OpenSea, what do I do?
Open your nft on OpenSea, click on the three ... in the upper right corner, choose refresh metadata. It can sometimes take a few minutes.
  • What does necroscribe do?
Necroscribe does everything necrophize does, and it also queues your BTC wallet for an ordinal inscription of your human.
  • Why do I have to pay to necroscribe?
Ordinal inscriptions incur a substantial network fee based on the size of the image being inscribed. The inscription fee you pay covers the cost of the network fees, the airdrop network fee and the cost of running the ordinals server.
  • Can I inscribe both my human and undead guardian?
If the community wants undead inscriptions we will open them in the future, at that point both will be available.
  • What BTC wallet should I use?
We have found the best user experience on desktop to be Hiro Wallet, and on mobile Xverse
Our dApp will only accept taproot BTC addresses to help protect your ordinals.
  • Do I lose my ETH Asset if I choose to inscribe?
No, but necroscribe can only be called once per NFT.
  • Do I have to do both functions?
No, nothing is required. You can run none, one or both functions potentially.
  • How long will the Lab be open?
We have no intentions of closing the lab, we do reserve the right to pause inscriptions if the price ratio of BTC to ETH changes dramatically.
  • If I buy one on OpenSea how do I know if it has been inscribed?
There are two functions you can call on our contract on Etherscan that will help you see the inscription status of a given NFT.
First you can check the current queue for inscriptions by calling retrieveRequests.
You can also see if it has been inscribed by calling findInscription.
If the token you are buying does not return in the queue or with an inscription then it can still be redeemed.
  • Where can I learn more about ordinal inscriptions?
An in depth overview of ordinals, maintained by their creator/discoverer can be found here.
